I was
born in this beautiful Valley and have lived here all of my life
— over 50 years. (My maiden name was Anne Wheelan.) I've
watched Napa evolve from a small and sleepy town to one that is
world-famous, rich in both viticulture and agriculture —
and filled with opportunity. As a child on family vacations, I
was often asked by the people I'd meet where I was from. Most
had never heard of the Napa Valley.
I attended local schools, including Lincoln Elementary (now long
gone), St. John the Baptist Elementary, Justin-Siena High School
and Napa Valley College. I went on to attend various other colleges
in Marin and Sonoma Counties, and continue to stay very active
in ongoing real estate studies.
I initially became a Realtor in the late 1980's. It was a different
world: Interest rates ranged from 10 to 11%, the amount of forms
and paperwork for the average transaction was much simpler and
the disclosure requirements were lesser than what is now so prevalent.
And of course, the Internet was not yet available. (This was an
even further cry from when my grandfather sold real estate in
Napa in the 50's and 60's. He apparantly began his career by simply
studying on his own and then taking the license exam.)
In the early 1990's I decided to take time
out to raise my daughter and attend college, still following the
market and trends and returning to real estate a few years back.
I am thrilled to be working in the field of real estate because
I am so passionate about it and because I can work in the Valley
that I've lived in all of my life. I love being in service. Being
a Napa native has been beneficial to those who are relocating
to Napa because I know the area so well. This web site can be
a tremendous resource when considering a move to the Napa Valley.
