About Us

Mary Jo Hamilton-Lee had the dubious responsibility of acting as dresser/dog walker for Pia Zadora at the beginning of both of their careers. What followed was 10 years of prop making experience in professional theatre across America. Her prop work has been seen at American Conservatory Theatre, The Old Globe Theatre in San Diego, Milwaukee Rep, Alaska Rep and others. She has worked with actors such as Annette Bening, John Astin, Lynn Redgrave, Elizabeth McGovern, Tom Berenger, Kate Milgrew and Maureen O'Sullivan - to name a few. When motherhood prevented her from working, she took to creating theatre on the Internet. Culturehounds.Com is the product of this endeavor.

CultureHounds.Com co-founder is Bernie Hamilton-Lee, a semi-professional actor/director and entrepreneur. As an actor, his diverse roles have included Luther Billis in South Pacific, Garry/Roger in Noises Off, Tom/Phyllis/Leslie in Sylvia, Eilif in Mother Courage and her Children, RG in Red Scare on Sunset, Sgt Match in What the Butler Saw and Lucky in Waiting for Godot. He has directed productions of Sam Shepard's True West, The House of Blue Leaves, Me and My Girl and Noel Coward's Hay Fever. In business, he's spent many years in retail management for such companies as The Wherehouse and Gottschalk's, and he has launched some rather wacky businesses on his own, as well: A cross country collaborative writing club; a door-to-door "comedy gram" service; and a service to plan nights out at the theatre with a group.
